Aggregate = the total after a lot of different parts or figures have been added together.

Altruistic = altruistic behaviour shows that you care about and will help other people, even though this
brings no advantage for you.

Apropos = used to introduce a new subject that is related to something just mentioned.

Body language = changes in your body position and movements that show what you are feeling or
thinking.

Dilemma = a situation in which it is very difficult to decide what to do, because all the choices seem
equally good or equally bad.

Engage = to attract someone’s attention and keep them interested.

Fidget = to keep moving your hands or feet, especially because you are bored or nervous.

Insincere = pretending to be pleased, sympathetic etc., especially by saying nice things, but not really
meaning what you say.

Inspirational = providing encouragement or new ideas for what you should do.

Lean = to move or bend your body in a particular direction.

Leverage = the influence that one person or organisation has on another.

Manipulative = clever at controlling or deceiving people to get what you want – used in order to show
disapproval.

Mannerism = a way of speaking or moving that is typical of a particular person.

Misinterpret = to not understand the correct meaning of something that someone says or does, or of
facts that you are considering.

Nod = to move your head up and down, especially in order to show agreement or understanding.

Nod off = to begin to sleep, usually when you do not intend to and are sitting somewhere and if very
