REVISION WORKSHEETS:
ELEMENTS OF ART: LINE
Line is the mark we make to create our picture. It can be an outline,
structural, or a line that describes the texture or feeling of something.
For example:
outline Structural restful angry
sharp busy horizontal vertical
diagonal Thick and thin broken dotted
ELEMENTS OF ART: TEXTURE
Lines can also be used as texture. We use texture to describe the surface of
an object. We make different marks with pencil or paint to make the object
look like the “real thing” – this is called realism. Use lines and texture marks to
explain what the following object would FEEL like:
hatching Cross-hatching scribbling stippling
Cotton wool Pot scourer Beach sand Prickly pear
