Biddy is a simple, kindhearted country girl. She first befriends Pip when they attend
school together, and ends up teaching him herself. After Mrs Joe is attacked, Biddy
moves into Pip’s home to care for her.

natural chemistry, but Pip’s overpowering passion for Estella leads him to use Biddy
as a means to an end - a confidant and a teacher.
