NURS –6052N: Essentials of Evidence-Based Practice
Part A: Critical Appraisal of Research Evidence Research appraisal is vital to assess the outcomes of research evidence and how they impact practice. As the nursing profession continues to evolve, nurses embrace evidence-based practice to improve the care they provide. Appraising a study is essential to ensure that the study is from known and reputable sources, are up-to-date, and can inform clinical decision-making. In this paper, three level I systematic review articles and one level III study are assessed to determine the value of the context on medication errors and how they impact patients and the healthcare system. This will be accomplished by appraising the findings from these peer-reviewed articles, tabulating evidence in the evaluation table below, and providing a one-to-two critical appraisal page to summarize one evidence-based practice suggestion drawn from the critically appraised peer-reviewed articles. APA citations are also provided to justify the proposed best practice that can improve nursing practice.
