75 marks
Duration: 3 Hours

EXAMINERS
First examiner: Mrs S Wärnich
Second examiner: Prof IL Potgieter
External examiner: Dr D Pillay

This paper consists of 8 pages.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. An HRM3703 online examination information sheet was provided to you via an announcement on
myUnisa.
2. Answer files should be submitted in English ONLY. NO other languages will be marked. If
you submit your answer file in any other language than English, it will not be marked, and you will
receive a zero mark for the examination.
3. Facts must be written out in complete, well-explained sentences. No marks will be allocated to
vague and single word or cryptic answers.
4. Number each page of your assessment clearly.
5. Submit your answers as a single document in PDF format. It is preferable for you to type your
answers (Font: Arial, size 12) and then convert your document to PDF format for submission.
However, if this is not possible, you may also write your answers down and scan them to a PDF
file. Please write legibly. Please ensure that all the pages are scanned in the correct format
and that the pages are displayed correctly and clearly. If not, the answer file will not be
marked.
6. Start with a cover page stating the module code (HRM3703) and include your student number.
This should be followed by your answers to the questions. Note that all three questions are
compulsory. There are no optional questions.
7. There is no need for a table of contents, introduction, conclusion or list of references. Simply
answer all the questions.
8. Make sure that each question and sub-question is clearly numbered and that the numbering
corresponds with those in the examination paper.
9. While you are not required to cite your sources, this does not mean that you can simply copy
information from any source and include it in your assessment. You need to answer the questions
in your own words. Plagiarism will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action if
detected and a mark of 0%.
10. Please ensure that you submitted a declaration of honesty on myExams.

11. Please ensure that your PDF document is NOT encrypted to a “secured” mode and that it is NOT
password protected as these files cannot be marked. Virus infected files will also not be marked.
The maximum file size is 20Mb.
12. NO late submissions will be accepted, once the three hours have lapsed, convert your
document to pdf format and start submitting it and upload before the cut-off time.
13. Submit your answers in one PDF document on the myExams platform
(https://cems.myexams.unisa.ac.za). See the Student Guide: my Exams File Upload
Examination for details on the steps that you should follow. No e-mailed scripts will be

14. Students are advised to preview submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and that
the correct answer script file has been uploaded.
15. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts on myExams within the one additional
hour should their initial submission be unsatisfactory.
16. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms
(including the invigilator cell phone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be
granted for resubmission.
17. A mark awarded for an incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity
for resubmission will be granted.
18. A mark awarded for illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity
for resubmission will be granted.
19. Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be subjected to disciplinary
processes (only include if applicable to your module as per the invigilated module list above).
20. Students have a specified period from the day of their examination to upload their invigilator
results from the Invigilator App. Failure to do so will result in students deemed not have
participated in the online invigilation. Refer to the online exam arrangements and rules in this
regard https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/myunisa/default/Assignments-&-
Examination/Examinations/Essential-tips-for-online-examinations.
21. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. Unisa has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of
academic dishonesty.
22. Students are provided one hour to submit their answer scripts after the official examination time.
Submissions made after this time will be rejected by the examination regulations and will not be
marked.
23. Students experiencing network or load shedding challenges are advised to apply for an aegrotat
and submit supporting evidence within three days of the examination session. We have on
several occasions warned students prior to the examination to make alternative arrangements in
case of load shedding.
24. If you experience technical difficulty look on the welcome page of the HRM3703 myExams
platform for the contact details and process to follow. Note there is a separate WhatsApp
number to report problems with The Invigilator App. Students experiencing technical challenges
should contact the SCSC on 080 000 1870 or via e-mail or refer to
the Get-Help resource for the list of additional contact numbers. Communication received from
