P2- Suggest treatments that can support individuals
Choose 2 different types of treatments from the different categories
Then explain these treatments- who offers them (which professional gives these
treatments), what happens during these treatments, if explaining medications give side
effects of the medications
P3- Suggest services within the health and social care sector that can best support the needs of
individuals with mental health conditions.
Choose 2 different services- for example, could use eating disorder team for anorexia.
Explain these services- what they do, what the professionals do within the service.
P4- Summarise how legislation can be used to support individuals with mental health conditions
Choose 2 pieces of legislation
Explain the benefits of this piece of legislation- for example, people with a mental health
condition cannot be refused a job interview under the Equality Act 2010 as it’s a protected
characteristic
Break down each part of the legislation and explain why and how this supports the individual
with a mental health condition
M1- Compare the use of treatments for different mental health conditions
Explain why one type of treatment may be useful for one type of mental health condition but not
another. For example, medication such as a beta blocker may be beneficial for anxiety, but in-patient
treatment may not be appropriate for this as it could increase anxiety in the individual.
M2- Compare how different support services benefit individuals with mental health conditions
Explain how one support service would benefit an individual with a specific mental health condition
but would not benefit an individual with a different mental health condition.
D1- Analyse the potential impact of the care and support received from professionals in different
services
Improved physical wellbeing
Personalisation of care- means they get care tailored to them
Individual builds a positive relationship with professionals
Individual is safeguarded better because of this positive relationship; means they can
approach professional about any concerns they have.
Promotes positive behaviour as they feel they are being supported
Promotes overall health and wellbeing of individual
