Water is life. People, animals and plants cannot survive without water. There are many different ways to get water. We can get water from the rain, river and etc. Some places have shortage of water and they have to walk for a long distance to fetch water. Some people have to buy water and some places do water drilling so they can get water from underground. We use water to drink, cook, bath and etc. Animals drink water and plants grows well they get water. If the rain does not rain water in the rivers and lakes get short and small rivers dies at all. Plants that get water from the rain dies. Animals dies because of thirsty and people get hungry and need water. They get hungry because plants are not able to grow well and so dies. Even though we live with water but we must remember that water is dangerous. If the rain, rain very strong we experience floods that destroys homes near the river and animals dies. Children are not supposed to play near the rivers as they can drown. It is not good for people to bath in the rivers. It is important to save and conserve water. Water is life for everyone and for every living things. P a g e | 3 Question 2 Big ideas that are appropriate to weave through my theme plan. 1. Conservation Student No : - This is the best concept that young children should know more about it. Young children love to play with water they should know that it is the most important thing in our life and for our live as living things so they must conserve it. They must know that although water is a natural thing but it needs to be conserved and saved as we do have place that are shortage of water and they are straggling. 2. Adaptations - Young children should know that some animals and plants cannot survive without water they will die some will change from their natural. I will guide the learners and assist those with barriers. P a g e | 24 LESSON PRESENTATION Introduction of lesson Teacher will great the learners. Teacher together with the learners do a rhyme. Student No : WATER Water is life, Plants, animals and us, We need water to survive Plants need water to grow and bear fruits, Animals need water to drink, We need water to bath, drink, wash Without water there is no life, Water is life. Teacher will show the learners a poster with different pictures, she will paste it on the chalkboard and ask the learners what do they see on the poster? Then the learners will say what they see. Teacher will then tell the learners that we will read a story with a tittle ‘water’. Teacher will tell the learners that the story will tell us how important water it is in our lives. Body of lesson Teacher will read the story for the learners and explain it. Learners will be listening to the teacher when reading the story. After the reading of the story teacher will ask the learners questions with science concepts about the story. Teacher: Where does water comes from? Expected answers from the learners: Rain, rivers, lakes, sea, etc Teacher: what does other places us to get water? Learners they uses machines to drill water from underground. Teacher: what will happen to animals and plants if they don’t get water? Learners: they will die. Teacher can we survive without water? Learners: no. Teacher will then use a poster about water conservation and teach the learners about how to conserve water. The poster will be pasted on the chalkboard.
