Introduction
In this assignment, I’ll be looking at two different businesses. The two contrasting
businesses that I’ll be comparing will be Pizza hut and IKEA. It will be a good
comparison because both organisations have differences to compare. I will be
comparing the type of businesses, purpose and ownership of the two contrasting
business. I will be explaining which sector the organisation belongs to, and the
size and scale.
Business 1: Pizza hut
The main nature of the business Pizza hut is food and drink.
Pizza hut is known for selling wide range of pizza ranging from
sizes of 9inches to 16inches. The business is known for delicious
pizza, therefore pizza hut specialise in Pizza, and the company sells pizza more often
than any other products. Other than pizza they also sell sides, desserts and drinks. The
products Pizza hut uses are Italian – American cuisine, pizza, pasta and Buffalo wings.
Pizza hut provide good service to their customers by excellent employees and the Food
compliments the service of pizza hut which makes them the best Pizza restaurant in the
world.
The company Pizza hut is an International business. Pizza hut has more than 6,000 pizza
hut restaurants in United States alone, and they also have 5,139 store located in other 94
countries around the world. There are 200-300 Pizza hut stores in the United Kingdom
and it’s still expanding to other places too. The reason why Pizza hut is an International
company because they’ve established their company in June 15, 1958 in the United
States. Customers loved their pizza and customer service therefore Pizza Hut excelled in
selling pizza and they have enough money to create more stores in the United States.
After a good reputation in United States, Pizza hut decided to expand overseas to make
their company more known and gain more profit. After 15 years of good Pizza and
service, Pizza Hut Open their first stores In the United Kingdom in 1973. From that point
Pizza hut gradually started to expand across the United Kingdom, and globally. Now Pizza
hut operates in more than 94 countries and they’re developing.
Pizza hut is a large scale company which operates globally therefore it’s a large scale
company because it has more than 11,000 stores globally operating in more than 94
countries. The number of employees working for Pizza hut Is 160,000 which is large
scale. The company Pizza Hut generates $6 billion dollars annually.
Pizza hut was first founded by a public company called PepsiCo’s. PepsiCo’s was a public
company which meant it has shareholders, and it could be bought from the public. The
company also has limited liability which made the shareholders responsible for the debt.
After 2 decades of business PepsiCo’s sold their Pizza hut business to Yum! Brand, and
