he module introduces systems of European law. Both international and national. The international focus is mostly on EU law with some reference and comparison to other international systems, notably the Council of Europe and the UN for comparative purposes. The national dimension considers civil law systems and consideration of how international and EU law impacts the English legal system. Coverage of EU law is this module aims to meet the EU law requirement of the foundations of legal studies for the academic component for qualification to the Bar. This module will introduce students to the key concepts that one could expect to be examined on the SQE, the exam required as part of qualification to become a solicitor. The module is at level 4. It develops students knowledge of legal systems, especially the EU's and it seeks to help students develops their confidence in interpreting and apply law. Students will use primary secondary sources (textbooks) but will also be introduced to primary sources particular in relation to EU law.
