Book 2 Part 1 Epistemology Chapter
21 Genie
• This chapter is the chapter that Genie kills herslef, she is lying on her and Vidas bed and she is
bleeding.
• As the blood stain grow larger and larger Genie thinks back to her childhood with the sunflower
and how much she loved them and how in another life she must have been a sunflower.
• She is now having hallucinations of her childhood, she is not with Marcus at brown car with specs
and Penelope then there is a pair of SILVER WINGS THAT TKAE TO THE SKIES.
• She then starts to remember the day the Sonja came to Beaufort farm and killed people and she
is screaming and running alway.
• She then slips into darkness and she is in the sunflower field with her father and mother, they are
all reunited and all the sunflowers instead of facing the sun they are looking at them.
• Genie is basically dead now and she is reunited with her family, she isnot dead yet she is just in a
comma. But she does die soon and does not wake up.
Chapter 22 Vida
• Vida gets home and he knows something is wrong, the house is dark and he can’t find Genie.
• He walks into the kitchen to find two empty glasses, someone else was there.
• He then went to their bedroom and found genie asleep on the bed in a pool of her own blood, he
immediately rushes her to the hospital where the doctor tells him that she is in a comma.
• Vida goes home to change as he was full of Genies blood, he sees that Genie prepared the house
for him, she cleaned, did his dry cleaning packed up her stuff. Almost as if she was preparing him
for a life without her.
• Then Vida realised that Genie has planned to leave him, he finds a pair of reading glasses in their
bathroom, and he starts to try figure out whose reading glasses they are.
• (The reading glasses were Valentines as he was the one that helped genie plan and carry out her
death)
• Vida grabbed a few of his things and then took to the streets again.
Chapter 23 Jesus
• Vida is back on the streets now as he does not know how to cope with genie busy dying.
• He tries to go back to the old spots he used to be at when he was first on the streets. He sees
that all the newspaper headlines are, “Jesus Back on the Steets” written by the Chronicle.
• The one who wrote the article is Bhekithemba, he was the reporter from chapter 4. He had gone
to Beaufort and met genie as a girl and wrote an article on her father, the man who wanted to
build the pair of silver giant wings.
• Vida read the newspaper and got made as it was wrong about what happened, he says, “this
bhekithemba needed to be taught the facts” as the paper said that the messiah of the streets.
• Vida went down to his offices to confront him, they have a whole conversation about how Genie is
not dead and what happened, Beckie tells Vida how he was the one that wrote the first story on
Goilide and then Vida told him that Golide found him in a field listening to Janice Joplin.
• By the end of their conversation Bheki tells Vida to stop wondering around on the streets and go
be there for genie in the hospital, so that is what Vida does.
, • When he gets to the hospital the Masukus are there and they are trying to figure out what
happened to genies, they are fighting and screaming at Vida and blaming him for what happened
to genie.
Chapter 24 Marcus
• Marcus is living in America with his wife Esme. They are very rich but they dont have children yet.
Marcus gets a call from his mom telling him what happened to Genie and that she is in a comma
and that the needs to come home.
• Marcus goes to pack a bad and finds THE 1965 ATALS THAT SHE HAS SENT HIM AND HE
DOES NOT KNOW WHY SHE SENT HIM THAT ATALAS!!!!!NB (she planned her death)
• Marcus tries to call Krystle to tell her what happened but she does not answer and so then he
leave a voice message.
Chapter 25 Krystle
• Krystle is walking to her apartments and she is ignoring Marcuses calls as she wants to be left
alone.
• She sees a nearly dead bird and picks it up and takes it home to try save its life.
• Krystle has the POSTCARD THAT GENIE SENT HER ON HER TABLE, THE ONE WITH VICOTRIA
FALLS ON IT. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!NB (she planned her death)
• Krystle is busy with his bird and she calls the vet to ask what to do with the bird and how does
she save its life, the vets name is Xander Dagerfield and she flirts with him.
• Krystle finally checks her phone and sees 9 missed calls from Marcus and she calls him back to
find out about genie.
• Krystle then thinks once again Marcus is the hero rushing in to save genie and she is the bad guy
that genie is in a coma as it is her fault genie has HIV.
Chapter 26 Esme
• Marcuses wife is Esme, she always feels left out that they are a family, the mom, dad, Krystle,
genie, Marcus, grandmother and never her.
• Esme starts to remember the day that Markus brought her to Africa to meet the family, at the
airport she met Krystle and Genie. Soon she felt left out and she saw that there was something
between Marcus and Genie.
• Esme knew that if Genie died that he was not going to come home
• Then she remembered something that Genie said to her, “My way of loving him was to let him go,
your way of loving him will be to keep him”
• At night Esme knew that Marcus dreamt of Genie and that she was his dream and Esme was
scared that if Genie died she would never get him back.
Chapter 27 Marcus and Krystle
• Marcus and Krystle are at the airport and are talking and Marcus teases Krystle as she has been
working on her phd for years now but no one but Esme has actually seen it
• They see an add that says, “we travel not to reach our destination but to arrive with love, in love
and to be with the ones we love”
• Krystle tells Marcus that Esme is scared that she will loose him.
