Summary PHIL 347N Week 6 Discussion Question 2
PHIL 347N Week 6 Discussion Question 2 In the whole process of donating an organ. The organ donor is first asked when we apply for our driver's permit & we are asked if we want to become an organ donor. We either reply yes or no. I choose yes because I would like to make a difference & save lives even if I am deceased I can still make a difference with my organs that one patient may need for survival be it an 18-year-old for example. The process involves a doctor (surgeon) to conduct an operation suited for the patient in need of an organ, they are responsible for the vital signs of the patient when doing an invasive surgery requiring an enormous amount of concentration & focus to keep the patient alive while implanting them a new organ. The patient is the individual who is in desperate need of the organ, they are the organ recipient & will have to undergo a procedure that is quite invasive that will enable them to live once again. The cadaver is someone who is not compensated because he/she is deceased & has done their part by giving them the organ that was needed. However, it can be said that the cadaver has received a reward that counts as self-righteousness in their part, but the family can also receive the reward if the son/daughter has had an unfortunate event that led to their death & so the family can be compensated with monetary funds. So somehow, everyone can be compensated or is compensated for any reason necessary. The doctor will receive money for his operation, the patient will receive an extension of life, the cadaver is his self-righteousness & if so the family for money as well
