Introduction
This assignment focuses on the type of ownership and purpose of
two contrasting businesses being Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and
River Island. It also describes the types of stakeholders in an
organization both internal and external. It continues by outlining the
organizational structure of both organizations along with how their
chosen structure benefits the business. Furthermore, this assignment
discusses the importance of a mission statement and objectives in a
business and that of both contrasting businesses chosen in this
assignment and giving reason as to why the mission statement and
objectives of business are chosen. Lastly it explains the influence of each
stakeholder in the organizations on the aims and objectives and goes
further in depth on ranking the importance of stakeholders in one
organization and giving reason for each.



Aims and Objectives
1. To be able to differentiate the types of ownerships of a business.
2. To be able to list the types of stakeholders for a business.
3. To be able to outline the type of organizational structure of a
business.
4. To be able to note the benefits of an organizational structure to a
business.
5. To find the importance of a mission statement and objectives in a
business.
6. To be able to define how stakeholders benefit a business.
7. To be able to differentiate the importance of different stakeholders
and giving reason.

,P1: Introduction
The first section of the assignment focuses on the selected organizations
that the entire assignment will be focusing on. The chosen organizations
are River Island being the profit organizations and Rainbow Trust being
the non for profit organization. It starts by defining the ownership,
purpose of two organizations along with the variation in size.
RIVER ISLAND



River Island is a high street fashion brand. It was founded by Bernard
Lewis and Brothers in 1948. They focus on providing products such as
Women's, Men's and Children's Clothing as well as Footwear and
Accessories.
River Island is an international business with branches in United
Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, Namibia, Estonia,
Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Qatar, Sweden,
Philippines, Bahrain, Kuwait, Malta, Chile and Peru. River Island is a
private limited company because they produce their own products. They
are a secondary sector because they
manufacture their own products for
consumers.


RAINBOW TRUST
The Rainbow Trust Children’s
Charity is a non-government
organization in the United Kingdom
founded in 1986 by Bernadette Cleary
OBE which provides emotional and practical support to families who
have children with a life threating or terminal illness.
Rainbow Trust is a non-for-profit organization because they were formed
to help people and is also a tertiary sector because they do not make or
manufacture their own products but provides the services necessary for
consumers. Rainbow Trust provides services such as palliative care,
home support, sibling support, bereavement support, hospital transport,
etc. Rainbow Trust is run by trustees and patrons who ensure that the
organization has a clear strategy for the future.
The advantages of Rainbow Trust are that they are able to connect
with families by providing the support necessary during critical times
which will lead to the formation of a relationship between the business
and consumer.

, CONCLUSION
In conclusion, each business in the market has a different purpose,
ownership type depending on their operation. They also different in size
depending on the audience they are trying to reach. Some business aims
to make a profit while others aim to only help people.
P2: Introduction
This purpose of this section of the assignment is to list and describe each
of the stakeholders for each organization selected in P1.

Stakeholders are persons which can affect or be affected by the
organizations actions, objectives and policies. Stakeholders can be
divided into two (2) categories being internal (stakeholders inside the
organization) or external (stakeholders outside the organization).
a) Internal stakeholders are persons who are directly and financially
involved in the business and its operation process.
b) External stakeholders are persons who even though not working
for the organization are interested in the business.
