OB Assignment 2 Magic Eye, Inc

Magic Eye, Inc is a case study about a company that works on computerized special effects. Paul Reed, the vice president of Magic Eye, Inc., is an engineer who was hired along with many other programmers who had similar backgrounds and works. Paul does not believe his colleagues are meeting their highest potential level. He feels they are not fully motivated to do their job. He investigates a young programmer, Jeannine Savaria, who needs to be spoken to about her work performance. Jeannine has a high level of understanding at her job, but she feels she is not trusted by her supervisors, and the micromanagement irritates her. Motivation, according to our textbook, can be described as the processes that account for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort toward any goal. This case will be evaluated by using a work motivation theory to explain the situation.
