PSY 352: Cognitive Psychology -Memory Errors and its Causes
Memory Errors and its Causes Memory gaps and memory errors are referred to as incorrectly recalling, or, the loss of information in the system of memory, for a specific event or a specific detail. When speaking about memory errors, it may also include things about the specific event that never occurred, or remembering it differently from the way it actually happened. There are a number of reasons as to why we experience memory gaps and memory errors. In this paper, I will explain some of those reasons and discuss some of the studies that cognitive psychologist have documented about those reasons. I will also discuss the Troy Davis court case involving memory errors of witnesses and their testimony and the misinformation effect
