General Physics
1. Speed - distance travelled per unit time.
2. Velocity - rate of change of displacement.
3. Average Speed - total distance / total time
4. Acceleration – rate of change of velocity.
5. Uniform acceleration – change in velocity is constant for a given interval of
time.
6. Deceleration – negative acceleration
7. Terminal velocity – Constant velocity attained by a body when the resultant
force acting on it reaches 0
8. Mass – mass is a measure of the quantity of matter in an object at rest relative
to the observer
9. Inertia: property of a body to resist change in it’s motion
10. Centre of mass – the geometric point from where all the weight of the body is
assumed to act upon
11. Weight – the force of gravitational field on mass, defined as the product of
mass and gravitational field strength
