- S2: They're riding their bikes.
- T: Excellent. Good. What are their names do you think?
- S3: Donald and Melania.
- T: Great idea! – So I'm putting that on the board (Teacher writes on the board 'Donald and Melania

i) Eliciting the Target Language from the Context
S = Student & T = Teacher

T: We have so many good ideas of things to do this weekend. I would like you to put up your
hand and tell me which of these activities can be done if it is sunny. *Teacher writes “if it
is sunny” on the board.*
*A number of students raise their hands*

S1: Go swimming.

S2: Play tennis.

S4: Make a cake.

S5: Ride my bike.

*Teacher circles each of these mentioned on the board*
T: Great, well done! Now let us just look at “go swimming”. How do we make this a full
sentence? Emma?
Emma: I will go swimming.
T: Yes, well done! Now how can we can join these two sentences to make one full sentence.
Does anyone know how we can say this? Jack?
*Teacher points at both parts of the sentence written on the board*
Jack: If it is sunny and I will go swimming.
