, Unit: 2 Learning Aim D
I have learnt several new skills in Unit 2 that will benefit me in the future. I am hoping to
study Biochemistry at university, and I have been provided with a foundation of practical
skills and knowledge to build upon.
The main techniques I have learnt in this unit are titrations, colorimetry, chromatography and
calorimetry. These techniques have been transferable into other Units. For example, in Unit 3
we have covered calorimetry, and being familiar with how to set up the experiment has been
helpful. Furthermore, the techniques I have learnt will be useful beyond college. I will need
to carry out several acid-base titrations in university, so being familiar with the correct
technique will be useful.
