After carefully reviewing the Cutting Edge Advanced course book, I have arrived at multiple
conclusions.


Firstly, I noticed that the provided course book has been excellently structured. The Warmer, Body
and Plenary stages are clearly present which forms the foundation for any lesson plan. This allows
for a logical sequence for students to follow, individually, as a class, or in groups. From one stage to
the next. After breaking down the course book provided, I managed to notice that this content
gradually increases in difficulty. The course book begins with continuous verb forms which are
easier for students to grasp and then moves on to auxiliaries and inversion adverbs towards the end
of the course book, which clearly outlines this gradual progression in difficulty. The course book
material is therefore clearly structured, and the order in which they are presented is appropriate and
logical, progressively increasing in difficulty at an appropriate speed. This smooth transition from
one topic to another allows students to slowly advance as they understand one topic at a time, thus
providing an effective foundation for successful learning in the classroom.


Secondly, there is an interesting range of activities for students to complete. These activities all
make up for the important skill-developing activities such as; reading, writing, listening, and
speaking. The course book also provides effective content for developing student’s language areas;
vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. These activities are composed of a range of different
activities which ultimately leads to a better understanding for more advanced English learners. It is
