Saiful Sport Injury Assignment 1 Unit 18

Task 1

P1:

Extrinsic - A risk or force from outside the body. These are external forces, such as from

objects or other individuals making contact with someone.

Intrinsic - A risk or force from within the body. These are internal forces, which are stressed
from within the body.

An extrinsic risk factor is something external to the body that can cause an injury. These

include:

● Coaching
● Incorrect technique
● Environmental factors
● Clothing and footwear
● Safety hazards

Coaching

● Poor coaching
● Poor communication
● Not adhering to NGB guidelines

An apparent manner in which sports players may become
injured is inadequate guidance provided by a coach. It is
crucial that all training is provided by someone who has an
up-to-date knowledge of the sport and is able to
communicate this properly and effectively. It is important
that, as outlined by the relevant NGB, all the rules and
regulations for the sport have been properly interpreted and
are implemented.

Incorrect technique

● Poor sports technique
● Lifting/handling sports equipment
The technique of performing an action or special skill is typically determined by the
instruction obtained from the PE instructor, coach, or trainer by the sports participant. If they
are not improved at the right moment, it is very common for people to start moving away
