Sources of Information That Will Give Guidance on Career Paths -
Unit 15 - P1

There are many different types of sources of information that will give
guidance on different career path options. The different sources can help you
in different ways. I am going to be writing about six examples of these different
sources. I will be writing about; Harlow College, Recruitment Agencies, Family
and Friends, Social Media, Company Websites, and Classified Ads.

Harlow College can help with career path guidance in many ways. They can
provide both online and offline help. They provide help online as they give
information on apprenticeships. Offline they have guest speakers and tutors
that could give you information on businesses and different careers. They also
have work experience, they encourage students to undertake work experience
which will provide information on the business world and give a taste of
different career paths. They also have an agency called The STAR Agency which
help students look at different career paths and research different
opportunities and options.

Recruitment Agencies can help with finding different career paths. Recruitment
agencies are both online and offline. Online recruitment agencies are
extremely useful as you can use them wherever you are if you have an internet
connection. An example of an online recruitment agency is indeed and you can
search for various vacancies. Offline recruitment agencies are also very helpful
as you can go into a recruitment agency and they will try to match you with a
job vacancy, they will source various opportunities, review your CV, and help
you improve it and give you tips to prepare you for interviews.

Family, friends, and acquaintances that you have built up in your network can
be a big help in career path guidance. They are mainly offline however they
could also be online as you can ask for recommendations from them on social
media on Facebook; then friends, family and groups can comment different
recommendations they have. They can also help you offline by talking to you
and giving you advice. If they know someone or somewhere that is hiring they
can help you look in to the vacancy. They can help you look into your different
options and try to guide you to what is best for you.

Social Media can also help you. Social Media is online. Social Media can
provide help in many ways. It can help you network and acquire further
acquaintances; an example of a Social Media site that helps a lot with this
