Example one: Throughout the course, I learned about the importance of ethical decision-making
in advanced nursing practice. This knowledge helped me to meet the competency of
demonstrating professional and ethical behavior. For instance, during the mental health advocacy
presentation in Week 5, I advocated for the needs of Black, Indigenous, and people of color
(BIPOC) populations. I ensured that my advocacy was based on evidence and compassion,
promoting positive health outcomes for these communities. By employing ethical decision-
making in this context, I demonstrated my commitment to the competency of professional and
ethical behavior.
