PROJECT
- A series of related jobs or tasks focused on the completion of an overall
objective
- All projects are expected to achieve the following project performance
goals:
• to be completed within time/schedule, cost/budget, and
quality/scope guidelines.
• To accomplish this
® projects must be authorized,
® their objectives and scope must be established,
® a project manager should be appointed, and the
project must be planned
- Projects do not involve routine operations that are performed repeatedly
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
- Planning, directing and coordinating resources to meet the
technical requirements cost and time constraints of the project
- Project management triange:
• Cost/budget/ time schedule\ quality scope _ =
perforable objectives
- Project management differs from management of more traditional
operations in that it is more limited with the time frame of projects
