Justification:
This activity will make use of bowling pins as the children showed interest in knocking them down
by transferring them to an art experience. The children showed some skills in palmer grasps as well
as releasing objects.
Description of the Experience
The children will have a tray with paper on it along with a bowling pin and large marbles. The paper
will have some paint dropped on it to allow the children to roll stamp or swipe the objects to make
art. This will be done at the table with three to four children at a time to encourage them to socialize.
Potential Learning for the Children
In the Social domain, the children will be practicing:
1.2 Imitation: This will be practiced if the educator shows the children how to do the art beforehand.
In the Emotional domain the children will be practicing:
2.3 Sense of Self: The children will be using their hands and coordination to do the art, this will give
them the opportunity to practice awareness of their own bodies and movement.
In the Communication, domain the children will be practicing:
3.1 Non-verbal Communication Skills: The children will be using cues with the educator and other
peers to communicate while doing the art.
3.3 Receptive Language Skills: The children could use these skills as they babble or form words
while speaking.
In the Cognitive domain, the children will be practicing:
4.1 Attention Regulation: To do the art, the children will need to practice attention regulation to
place their whole focus on the task they will complete.
In the Physical domain, the children will be practicing:
