The term sexuality refers to a fundamental and complex aspect of our behavior that

concerns on the one hand the acts aimed at reproduction and the pursuit of pleasure,

and on the other also the social aspects that have evolved concerning the different

characteristics of the male genders. and feminine. Sexuality must not be confused with

genitality as it is not limited to indicating only the pleasure and activities related to the

genital system but includes all the sensations and functions which, since childhood, are

aimed at the formation of the concept of sexual love. It is also important to define sexual

orientation and sexual identity as often people are not aware of them and ignore

important aspects of the life of some members of society. It is also important to define

the perspective we have on ourselves as sexual beings while by sexual orientation we

mean the emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction of a person towards individuals

of the opposite sex, of the same sex, or of both sexes. Staying on the topic of sexual

orientation I would like to focus on Alex Sangha who is known to be the founder of Sher

Vancouver.


Staying on the topic of sexual orientation I would like to focus on Alex Sangha who is

known for being the founder of Sher Vancouver which is a community and charity for

lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer coming from Indian backgrounds. He

identifies himself as gay and for him coming out was not an easy task as he comes from

an Indian/ Sikh family. I can relate to his situation to a great extent as even if I was born

and raised in Italy my grandparents are from Punjab and I come from a Sikh family as

well. When I say that I can relate is because I know how sexuality, in general, is a not

common topic in Indian/Sikh families. I never spoke about it with my parents and I
