Canada investor summit: Mark Carney in Toronto

Reminder that I am interested in your ideas/thoughts/responses. I am not
interested in what A.I. generates. Use your own words.

All researched information should be cited using MLA and cultivated into your
own responses.

Answer the following questions after reading the article (link
above) and watching the videos embedded within.

1. Prime Minister Carney says Canada has what the world wants: energy, resources,
talent, technology, and capital. Choose one of these strengths and explain how it
could attract international investment. [3 marks]

I believe that technology would attract investment from abroad as there is
potential job opportunities and the development of new innovations. Foreign
companies could invest in Canadian technological organizations to have access
to talented workers, new research and ideas. This investment would allow
Canadian companies to grow, and create new job opportunities in the
technological market, such as artificial intelligence and software development.
The technological industry could also benefit the overall economy as it would
give Canada an advantage over other competitors in the market.

2. The article highlights opportunities in energy, infrastructure, and critical
minerals. Which sector do you think offers the greatest potential for Canada's
future growth? Explain your reasoning. [3 marks]

I believe that the growth potential in infrastructure has the most promise in
terms of future earnings. Canada requires the improvement and maintenance of
transportation systems in order to have a functioning economy as goods need to
be transported between destinations. Infrastructure also involves the creation of
new facilities which could generate job opportunities and improve the overall
economy. The improvement of infrastructure would also benefit international
trading as it would be easier to transport goods to and from.
