Lab Safety
Why is lab safety Important?
Experiments can involve chemicals, heat, glassware, and
electricity. Lab safety needs to be followed so that we can prevent
injuries, accidents and damage to yourself and the environment,
so that we could keep everyone safe.
Lab Safety Rules
Wear PPE (Personal Do NOT Eat or
Protective Equipment)- Tie back long drink during the
safety googles, gloves, Lab hair lab
coats and closed shoes
Do NOT wear clothes that Wash off hands after and before
could easily catch fire on the the experiment thoroughly with
day of the lab soap
Never smell or touch a test
Do NOT wear clothes that
tube or container directly
could easily catch fire on the
- To smell it-Warf it
day of the lab
Handle Hot, electric, chemical, glass equipment with care
- If glass breaks- there is a separate waste container to
dispose the glass. Always inform the teacher!
- Chemicals have a separate dispose bin in the class
Watch out for hazards and read Keep bags out of reach from the
labels and instructions- know area of the lab

unattended at any time
