Superior contact points - ANSWER-- determined by characteristics of occluding surfaces of teeth
- tooth contact between all these movements
- determinants:
1. centric relations

3. edge to edge contact

Centric relation position - ANSWER-- tooth contacts found on one or more pair of posterior teeth
* first contact when the mandible closes in terminal hinge closure
Intercuspal position/maximum intercuspation - ANSWER-- musculature involved teeth shift in
superior - anterior position
- 90% of the population this is a slight change
- Approximaetly 1.25mm in distance plus/minus 1.0
- centric slide
- can occur in all 3 planes
