ASSIGNMENT NO 3

ACTIVITY 1

Learners should not only learn about the environment but should also be active
participants in the learning situations in environmental education processes. Your answer
should reflect the process of active learning process by Rosenberg et al. (2013). In your
discussion, clearly indicate the programs that you can initiate to promote problem solving
and critical thinking and how you keep learners engaged in the whole process of teaching
and learning.
1.1 Explain your role in promoting the following:
The nature versus support banter with regards to proficiency improvement in small kids is
a longstanding and complex subject in formative brain research and schooling. It revolves
around whether or not youngsters' perusing and composing skills are fundamentally
affected by their inborn organic variables (nature) or formed by their current circumstance,
encounters, and social communications (sustain). In fact, the interaction of nature and
nurture is what leads to literacy development. We should investigate both:
1. Nature (Elements innate): • Predispositions inherited: Some children may be more open
to learning literacy and language skills due to a genetic predisposition. For example,
certain hereditary attributes could influence their capacity to deal with phonetic data or
handle language governs all the more without any problem. • Neurological variables:
Mental health assumes a pivotal part in education securing. A few youngsters could have
neurological contrasts that influence their language handling and understanding abilities.
Reading readiness can be impacted, for instance, by issues with phonological awareness,
or the capacity to recognize and manipulate spoken language sounds. • Biological
maturation: As children get older, their brains go through changes that help them
remember, pay attention, and process information. These progressions can impact how
well and how rapidly they procure perusing and composing abilities.
2. Environmental factors that nurture: • Home environment: Early literacy development
can be aided by a stimulating and varied home environment that includes reading aloud,
engaging in literacy-related activities, and exposure to books. • literacy abilities Kids who
experience childhood in homes where perusing is esteemed are bound to foster an
interest in understanding themselves. • • Parental contribution: Guardians and
guardians who effectively draw in with youngsters in language-based exercises, narrating,
and conversations improve their language abilities and education advancement.
Children's progress can be significantly impacted by their regular interactions with adults
who read to them and encourage their reading efforts. • • Nature of early training: The
nature of early schooling and preschool encounters can significantly affect proficiency
improvement. Children's reading and writing skills are supported by high-quality programs
that emphasize language and literacy skills. • • Financial status (SES): Exploration
recommends that kids from higher SES foundations will more often than not have better
proficiency results. This could be because there are more opportunities for enriching
experiences, books, and educational materials available. • Interaction and
interdependence: It is essential to recognize that a child's literacy development is

,influenced by both nature and nurture, not the other way around. A child's ability to process
language, for instance, may be influenced by their genetic make-up, but their exposure to
a language-rich environment can strengthen and improve those abilities further. All in all,
the nature versus sustain banter in regards to education improvement in small kids won't
be quickly refined into a basic either/or situation. Both nature and sustain assume
necessary parts in molding a kid's perusing and composing abilities. Understanding this
connection can assist teachers, guardians and parental figures with providing more
successful and designated help for youngsters' proficiency development. In view of this
reaction, foster a contention to clarify for guardians why giving an education rich climate
at home is so significant. Your contention should be plain enough for guardians, parental
figures and grannies to comprehend. (5)
1.2 Children learn through imitation across cultures. Make a list of five occurrences that
young children actively observe and that provide them with opportunities to observe how
reading and writing are utilized in real life. (5)
1.3 In light of your response to address 1.2, make sense of what education abilities
youngsters realize through these perceptions. (5) 1.4 In the South African classroom,
linguistic, cultural, academic, and cognitive diversity are all present. It can't be accepted
that all kids have comparative understanding encounters or openness to books. Look at
and talk about five real factors that add to disparity in the proficiency encounters of small
kids. (10) 8 ### First Question (40) #### 1.1 Contention for a Proficiency Rich Climate

Environmental Education Topic: Water and its importance in our
ecosystem

Environmental Education Methods and Applications

1. Field Trips
- Application: Organize a field trip to a local water source (river, lake, or
reservoir) where students can observe the water ecosystem, identify
aquatic plants and animals, and learn about water conservation
practices in situ.

2. Project-Based Learning
- Application: Assign students to work in groups to create a project that
addresses water scarcity in their community. They can research
solutions and present their findings through posters, presentations, or
digital media, encouraging them to think critically about real-world
issues.

3. Storytelling and Role-Playing
- Application: Use storytelling to introduce a narrative about a day in
the life of a water droplet. After the story, students can role-play different
characters (like plants, animals, and humans) and explore how each
relies on water, fostering empathy and understanding of
interdependency within the ecosystem.
