The Founding of the United States
America's journey to independence is a historical topic that defines the creation of the United States of America. England's vision was always to establish colonies in North America ever since Queen Elizabeth 1 took power in the 16th Century, England's vision. England's exploration in the United States began in the first decade of the 17th Century when the colonialists from the country established settlements in Virginia. King James 1, the then king of England, took over the state by declaring that the natives would only continue to enjoy the same rights and freedom if they abide by the rules of England (Zinn). Throughout the 17th and part of the 18th Century, the colony focused on expanding its territories in the United States. Around the mid 18th Century, Americans began to lose touch with King James III. The kind of exploitations he subjected Americans to sparked a revolt that aimed at cutting ties with the colonialists. The revolution marked the beginning of the struggle for independence. In light of this, this paper discusses the cases of the American Revolution as well as the creation of the United States of America.
