Evolutionary Psychology
Evolutionary psychology is an informed biological approach that focuses on human behavior. Psychologists –cognitive and evolutionary – argue that human behavior, to a large extent, can be explained by any appeals directed toward internal psychological mechanisms. My worldview is that human behavior emanates from adoptionism and evolution-based concepts such as sexual selection. Therefore, my argument coincides with evolutionary psychology, which emphasizes that all human behaviors reflect psychological and physical predispositions shown by ancestors. The said disposition helped early man reproduce and survive. Evolutionary psychologists believe that human behavior is best explained by appeals to nature and reject the idea that one period in history can shape the behavior of the entire human race. Also, the theorists emphasize that much of individuals’ behavior can be explained by appeals to specific psychological adaptations relating to that behavior. As such, the evolution of human behavior is significantly influenced by the role of the development of associated traits.
