These notes cover introductory texts to the thinkings and works of Karl Marx and other foundational figures in sociology such as Emile Durkheim or Max Webber. Marx's two essays cover two of his foundational theories, estranged labour and alienation as well as the process of commodification under industrial capitalism and a basic understanding of Marx's historical materialist approach. Additional notes link Marx to the other foundational figures of European Sociology
