COURSE OBJECTIVES
MBA 706 – Marketing Strategy is a graduate-level marketing course which is intended to provide
students with a thorough understanding of marketing’s role in a firm’s business strategy. This course
focuses on helping students become a strategic marketer, so that they can develop and implement
marketing plans that will help businesses succeed.
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
1. Define and discuss terminology associated with marketing strategy.
2. Analyze the internal and external environment of a company through SWOT and or PESTEL
frameworks and make informed business decisions accordingly.
3. Make strategic marketing decisions regarding STP (Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning) to
achieve competitive advantage.
4. Make tactical marketing decisions regarding Marketing Mix (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion).
