Resource Centre and Information Officer

Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions
provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of
Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK).
The Organization’s core mandate is being a reliable provider for quality and
affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health
Systems Strengthening Services. MEDS was established in 1986 and serves
clients spread throughout Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.
The position will report to the Health Systems Strengthening Manager and will be
responsible for organizing information and ensuring that critical literature is
accessible, while also supporting operational efficiency, compliance, and
knowledge management.
Job Responsibilities
i. Organise and manage large volumes of data to ensure accessibility of
current and accurate information
ii. Ensure that essential records, contracts, compliance documents, and other
business-critical data are indexed, easily retrievable, and properly
archived
iii. Support in researching to identify emerging trends in the health care
industry
iv. Keep track of laws, regulations, and industry standards for
pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to ensure compliance with both
international and local requirements.
v. Train staff in the use of document management systems, databases, and
resources relevant to supply chain management to enhance efficiency
vi. Provide reference services to employees, helping them locate information,
from supplier contracts to medical guidelines, quickly and efficiently
vii. Facilitate access to research databases and journals, which may be
needed by teams involved in Research and development, quality control,
and regulatory affairs
viii. Conduct literature reviews for ongoing projects or supply chain
optimization, ensuring the organization stays ahead with evidence-based
practices
ix. Support departments to develop and publish scientific abstracts in several
areas pertaining to supply chain, quality assurance and health systems
strengthening
Qualifications
i. Bachelor’s degree in library and information science or information
management, or equivalent.
ii. Certifications in digital information management or document control
systems are an added advantage.
iii. At least five years of relevant work experience
iv. Technical competencies: Hands-on experience with digital document
management systems, library databases (such as Koha), and information
indexing software; strong understanding of information retrieval, record-
keeping, and archiving standards, particularly for regulatory and
compliance documentation; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
