Name and discuss at least one principle or tool of map reading that you learned in this lesson. Your answer should be at least one paragraph in length. My personal experience with maps has been mostly with Google Maps and driving directions. I do remember having a paper map in the glove box of my car as a young adult but didn’t use it much. Although many people do not use paper maps for daily life, they are still extremely important. One tool of map reading that I learned from this lesson was how to find the elevation of an area on a topographical map. This is helpful when traveling through mountainous regions. With the use of a ruler one can find out the highest and lowest elevations, as well as distance on a map. This will be very helpful when on vacation hiking though through the forest.
