, SUMMARY
This report was made for Vadain and aims to give the company a clear overview on how Vadain can
use its own data to gain insight into the effects of the entire process on its footprint and possibly
reduce it. This is done through a footprint calculation of 2019 as well as a life cycle analysis. At the
end of the report some ways to reduce the footprint are shown.
In this report research was done quantitively and qualitatively through interviews, desk research and
data analysis provided by the client. The report starts off with research regarding possible “carbon
footprint calculating tools” that the company can use to calculate their emissions. The results of this
research show that MilieuBarometer is the most suitable tool for Vadain.
The research shows that there is room for improvement regarding the carbon footprint of 2019.
Vadain produces a lot of CO2, 728 tons, mainly through their energy consumption and
transportation. The life cycle analysis shows CONCLUSION LCA.
The final chapter of our research report presents the clients some ways on how they could reduce
their footprint. The options provided are either compensating for the company’s emissions, carbon
offsetting, or ways the company could reduce their own emissions.
In conclusion Vadain can get a clearer overview of their carbon footprint through the carbon
footprint calculator, MilieuBarometer. The footprint presented by this calculator has shown what
parts of the process produces a lot of CO 2 and how Vadain can reduce this through carbon offsetting
projects or through changes in the process.
