CSR is a topic with a lot of attention nowadays. Several stakeholders pressure
organizations into participating in CSR. How the money is made is more important than how
the money is spent. Organizations have to implement a CSR strategy that will be beneficial
for the performance of an organization. This is relevant for organization A relevant because
of several reasons: - Executing is less expensive in comparison to executing within large(r)
organizations - Extra beneficial for experience goods compared to search goods
- More loyal customers, who spend more money on premiums.
How the money is made reflects directly on the core business of organization A. This is
important to keep in mind. There are several strategic opportunities in the core business:
circular economy, shared value, frontrunner position, co-creation, diversity, climate and energy,
and decent work.
The organization can integrate this easily by setting goals for the future. There are three key
elements in setting goals. First of all, sustainable consumption and production patterns. The
restaurant sector is an industry with a lot of food overconsumption and waste because of the
perishability of the products. Secondly, it is important to have partnerships for CSR, locally and
with specialized NGO initiatives. Thirdly, organization A needs to focus on the diversity in the
kitchen and decent work. Better work conditions will improve their commitment to CSR.
