Miscegenation - marriage against ethnic or racial lines
Intermarriage - marriage between people of perceived outgroups
Exogamy - marrying outside of one’s perceived group
Relationship - connection between 2+ individuals in which they both have rights and
responsibilities toward each other beyond an interaction with strangers
Relational identity is defined as a reality or culture that reflects the values, rules, processes of

Propinquity - physical closeness
Similarity attraction hypothesis - people are more likely to date within their own groups
Uncertainty reduction theory - individuals use communication to decrease their uncertainty
about other parties
