Welcome to the ICT2622 exam.
This question paper consists of four (4) pages, including this one.
Instructions:
1. Ensure that the exam you have received consists of all six (6) questions.
2. Answer all questions.
3. This is a closed book examination.
4. You are expected to use IRIS for invigilation.
5. You will be required to sign an honour pledge for this examination.
6. Save your document as a pdf file before submitting.
7. Do not password protect your document.
8. Candidates are warned against irregular or dishonest practices, which discredit not
only the candidate concerned, but also the good name of the University.
9. Use the eAssessment tool on myExams to submit.

1. Students must upload their answer scripts in a single PDF file (answer scripts must not be
password protected or uploaded as “read only” files)
2. Incorrect file format and uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
3. NO emailed scripts will be accepted.

5. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms
(including the invigilator cell phone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be
granted for resubmission.
6. Mark awarded for incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity for
resubmission will be granted.
7. Mark awarded for illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity
for resubmission will be granted.
8. Submissions will only be accepted from registered student accounts.
9. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. UNISA has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of
academic dishonesty.
10. Students are provided 30 minutes to submit their answer scripts after the official examination
time. Submissions made after the official examination time will be rejected by the examination
regulations and will not be marked.
11. Students experiencing network or load shedding challenges are advised to apply together with
supporting evidence for an Aegrotat within 3 days of the examination session.

Consider the case study that follows and answer subsequent questions in 5.1 and 5.2.
The shipping department receives all shipments on outstanding purchase orders. When the clerk in the shipping
department receives a shipment, he or she finds the outstanding purchase order for those items. The clerk then
sends multiple copies of the shipment packing slip. One copy goes to Purchasing, and the department updates its
records to indicate that the purchase order has been fulfilled. Another copy goes to Accounting so a payment can
be made. A third copy goes to the requesting in-house customer so he or she can receive the shipment. After
payment is made, the accounting department sends a notification to Purchasing. When Purchasing receives these
other verifications, it closes the purchase order as fulfilled and paid.
