ASSIGNMENT 2 2025

UNIQUE NO.
DUE DATE: 26 JUNE 2025

Question 1.1

In frame seven of The Man Who Never Lied, the visuals use bright and bold colours that
are generally very attractive to young children. The colours are simple, mostly primary
ones like red, yellow, blue, and green, which are known to grab the attention of kids
under six. However, the artistic style used in the story is not very cartoon-like or playful.
It looks more like traditional drawings or paintings, which might not fully connect with
very young children, who often enjoy exaggerated, funny-looking characters and more
playful illustrations. Even though the colours are vibrant, the people in the visuals look
serious, and the images don’t have much movement or action that small children
usually enjoy. Despite this, the visuals still help tell the story clearly. For example, in
frame seven, you can clearly see the king, the man, and their expressions, which
support the emotional part of the story. Children might not fully understand all the
meanings, but they can see the characters' feelings and actions through the images.
So, while the colours are appealing, the style may be a bit mature for children under six,
though the visuals still help in showing what’s happening in the story.

Question 1.2

The Man Who Never Lied is a legend, not a myth, because it is based on a person who
is believed to have lived a long time ago and taught people a valuable lesson about
honesty. Myths often include gods, supernatural creatures, or magical powers, and they
usually try to explain natural events or the creation of things. In this story, there is no
magic or supernatural elements—just a wise man named Mamad who becomes famous
for never telling a lie. Legends are usually connected to real people, and they grow into
bigger stories over time. For example, in the story, Mamad is trusted by everyone, even
the king, because of his honesty. The moment he says the prince “will ride a horse
today” even when the horse is dead is a clever way of sticking to the truth without
directly saying something bad about the prince. This shows how wise and careful
