Model of Work Behavior
Work behaviour of the individual is determined by work situation and individual characteristics.
Work situation: tasks, materials, workplace environment, context she or he has at
work.
Individual characteristics: stable characteristics, such as intelligence, physical aspects.
Changeable aspects: motivation and skills.
The work behaviour of an individual influences the organizational outcomes, such sick absence rates
of customer satisfaction. But also influences individual outcomes, such as job satisfaction or
productivity.
People who work in shifts, often experience a disruption in their circadian rhythm.
