What are significant Figures?
-Significant Figure (Sig Figs) are used to show how accurate a measurement is in Chemistry.
RULES
Sig Fig Not Sig Fig
1.All non-zero digits are SIG FIG 1. Trailing zeros are NOT SIG FIG
~ex. 1234=4 sig fig ~ex. 1200=2 sig fig
2.Zeros between non-zero digits are SIG FIG 2. Leading zeros/ zeros in front are NOT SIG FIG
~ex. 1002=4 sig fig ~ex. 0045=2 sig fig
3. Trailing zeros with decimal is SIG FIG If, there is a decimal after, it's STILL NOT SIG FIG
~ex. 1200.=4 sig fig ~ex. 0.045=2 sig fig
