Career plateauing occurs when an individual experiences a decline or stagnation in their
career progression, leading to reduced motivation and engagement.
1. Contented Plateaued Performer
These individuals are satisfied with their current role and responsibilities. They no
longer seek advancement but are happy maintaining their current position. They
often value job stability, routine, and work-life balance.
2. Unmotivated Plateaued Performer
These employees have lost interest in their work due to the perceived lack of
growth opportunities. They tend to show low levels of energy and engagement
and may not put in much effort since they believe advancement is no longer
possible.
3. Productive Plateaued Performer
Despite the lack of upward mobility, these individuals remain highly committed
and productive. They take pride in their work, seek mastery in their role, and
often contribute through mentorship or by taking on lateral responsibilities.
4. Discouraged Plateaued Performer
These performers are dissatisfied and disillusioned due to stalled career
