For AS Psychology Paper 1 on Introductory Topics in Psychology, focus on the following key areas to revise effectively: 1. Social Influence  Conformity: Understand key studies (e.g., Asch’s conformity experiments) and the types of conformity (e.g., compliance, identification, internalization). Attachment  Stages of Attachment: Understand Bowlby’s attachment theory, the concept of monotropic attachment, and the stages of attachment (e.g., pre-attachment, indiscriminate, discriminate, multiple).  Strange Situation: Study Ainsworth’s Strange Situation and the types of attachment styles (secure, insecure-avoidant, and insecure-resistant). Understand the factors influencing attachment, including temperament and caregiver responsiveness. 4. Approaches in Psychology  The Behaviourist Approach: Understand classical conditioning (Pavlov) and operant conditioning (Skinner), and how these theories apply to learning and behaviour modification.  The Cognitive Approach: Review cognitive models of memory, perception, and problem-solving.
