, Doors and windows
Typical configuration
- 4 main entrance cabin doors (1L/2L/1R/2R) → open outwards
- 4 overwing emergency excites
- 5 flight attendants jump seats
- 2 galleys
- 3 lavatories (1 forward, 2 aft) → A/D/E
- 3 cargo doors → forward/aft/bulk (yellow hyd system, but can manually open)
- 4 avionic compartment doors
- 1 cockpit door (3 locks) open automatically → decomp/elec failure
emergency → cabin can unlock by emerg code → after 45 sec, open for 5 sec (if
locked during this, access inhibited for 15 min)
DOOR/OXY page pops up automatically when
- engines are shut down
- any door not closed but engine running
- overwing exit/handle cover is removed
- cabin door has been opened
red/warning light illuminates near cabin door if:
- a/c on the ground, engines shut down, slide disarmed and cabin pressurized
slides should be armed prior to aircraft moving (remove pin + slide down lever)
- if armed and opened from outside slide will disarm
- only main entrance slide can be detached from the aircraft to float
Lights philosophy
- lights out → normal configuration and functioning correctly
- red → immediate action (fire)
- amber → abnormal (failed fuel pump)
- white → non-normal configuration (OFF light)
- blue → status for systems used for short periods of time (APU/ANTI ICE)
- green → confirmation of normal system status (EXT PWR ‘AVAIL’)
Instrument panel
- 6 DU’s → part of EIS (Electronic Instrument System) = EFIS + ECAM
- PFD+ND → EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System)
- upper and lower center DU → ECAM (Electronic Centralised Aircraft Monitor)
- upper ECAM: E/WD (Engine and Warning Display)
- lower ECAM: SD (System Display)
