Preview (Friday 7 June 2024)
The A-Level Spanish Paper 1 exam assesses your ability to understand
written and spoken Spanish, as well as your ability to write effectively in
the language. This paper is divided into three sections: Listening, Reading,
and Writing. You will need to demonstrate your comprehension skills,
your ability to express ideas clearly and coherently in Spanish, and your
understanding of the cultural and social aspects of Spanish-speaking
countries.
Section A: Listening 7692/1
In this section, you will listen to recordings in Spanish and answer
questions based on what you hear. The recordings will feature a variety of
speakers, including interviews, conversations, or news reports.
Types of Questions:
Multiple Choice (1 mark each): These questions typically ask
you to choose the correct answer based on the recording.
o Example: "What is the speaker's opinion about
environmental issues?"
Short Answer (1-2 marks): Questions that require you to respond
briefly based on the information you hear.
o Example: "What is the main topic of discussion in the
interview?"
Gap-fill or Matching (2-3 marks): These questions will ask you
to match statements to speakers or complete sentences with the
correct information from the listening.
o Example: "Fill in the missing information based on the
conversation."
Section B: Reading
In this section, you will read a variety of texts in Spanish and answer
questions that test your understanding of the content.
Section C: Writing
In this section, you will be asked to write an essay or a composition in
Spanish based on one or two prompts. You will need to show your ability
to organize your thoughts clearly, use appropriate vocabulary, and
demonstrate your grammatical accuracy.
