OTA role in evaluation
Participates under supervision of OTR, implements assessments as part of reevaluation
process, provides reports of written and verbal observation.
Roles of both OT and OTA in evaluation
Work collaboratively during this process, share responsibility, and practice within
standards of practice.
Screening
Includes evaluating data, client observation; should not be used to determine services
or intervention planning.
Evaluation
Requires synthesis of all obtained data, data interpretation, results of any testing, and
identifiable needs for intervention
Reevaluation
Occurs after evaluation, it may identify any need to modify the intervention plan or
change the intervention approaches.
Assessment
Used during the evaluation; refers to specific tool or instrument to obtain particular info
Reassessment
Continual reviewing of client performance to determine if intervention needs to be
altered, continued, ect. Does not occur during initial evaluation.
Formative
Gathering ideas, initial data collection to make your starting point (data gathering,
reevaluation)
Summative
Conclusion process; can be during evaluation and/or intervention (initial evaluation,
reevaluation or discharge)
