1945 – 1960’s – Product Development (Holiday Camps)
During the time of 1945 – 1960’s, this was the time that holiday camps reached their peak.
Large and well-known businesses such as Warners, Butlins and Pontins were catering for up
to 60% of the holiday market and tourism sector. These businesses did have a decrease and
decline due to a demand of better weather and summer being the peak, these holiday
camps are still massively popular now. They also went into decline due to the demand for
packaged holidays abroad growing and increasing. However, holiday camps are massively
important and have had a huge impact on the travel and tourism industry because people
now a days prefer to go to holiday camps rather than aboard due to it being too expensive.
