Explain how employee performance is measured and managed
in this assignment I am going to explain how employee performance
is measured and managed. The company which I have chosen for this
assignment is The Bijenkorf.
Performance measure
Measuring performance is keeping track of the performances of their
employees. Companies do that to see if employees are working hard
and achieving the required goals.
To measure performance within The Bijenkorf the following
measuring techniques are used:
Performance indicators
The sales department of The Bijenkorf has sales performance
indicators (sales figures). If the sales figures are high this means that
the performance of The Bijenkorf is going well. These figures can also
be used to compare them to the sales figures of previous years. Not
only can The Bijenkorf use these figures to look at their own sales but
also of their employees, so how many sales has a particular employee
made compared to another employee. With this The Bijenkorf can
look at which employees their sales performances have increased or
declined over the months or years and give them training on how
they can improve. Customer and employee feedback help the
company get a clear picture of their performances and whether the
staff is delivering good work. All employees have different
performance indicators. For example, sales staff will have a indicator
which will tell how many sales they have made in a certain period
and a managers performance would be measured trough the total
stores revenue in a certain period.
