hold a long term career but I am looking for the right place to grow
b. I think that this job offers the right place to grow. Not only have my experiences let me see the entire
timeline from different perspectives, but the type of work environment fostered (public, semi-public,
and private). Of course, these environments vary greatly from place to place, but there was something
intangible about working in the public sector like removing the context of profit. It enforces the feeling of
doing something for the common good.
c. With that, LADWP has the right values in mind too. You can see this through the programs they
implement like efficiency rebates and projects like the smart grid and efforts in increasing dependence in
local water supply. They are actually aiming for a sustainable future.
d. I liked being able to see a wide variety of problems which I think LADWP is faced with since the power
grid/water supply system is vast and complex. It puts their engineers up to the task with these wheras
it's very easy to be pigeonholed at some other places.

not only live, but to work for as an engineer.
b. LA is a leader in implementing green initiatives and promoting sustainability. Engineer roles have to be
dynamic to keep up with this.
c. Examples: Green New Deal, LA area is a leader in EV sales which means that the power grid has to
adapt to this and removing dependence from outside water sources.
d. I think this dynamic environment is here to stay and I am looking to stay with the city and establish a
long term career and watch the city grow.
e. Also, I moved here from Chicago to study Mechanical Engineering and I fell in love with LA.

circulation system as well to verify that the device works.

similar to my work with Lear Corporation as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern where I created a
Virtual Build Processes to simulate and characterize build processes to make them more efficient and
cost-effective.
