, Overview
• Human physiology: study of the bodily functions of human beings
• Cells: a cell is the fundamental functional unit of life in which physiological processes happen.
This processes happen within the intracellular fluid(ICF).
• Extracellular fluid (ECF)“internal environment”: this is the fluid outside the cell. In it, ions,
oxygen and nutrients are suspended.
• Fluid composition of the body: 60% of an adult human is water with 2/3 rd of it found inside the ce
(intracellular-ICF) and 1/3rd found outside the cell (ECF)
